

Bernice Christopher, born April 22, 1920 in Dallas, Texas to Dennis Brandt Pickens Sr. and Clara Beutel Pickens, happily lived 104 years and passed away peacefully June 18, 2024. She graduated TWU Denton and married Benjamin Graham Christopher in 1942. Stationed in San Diego, Ben served in the US Navy on Okinawa and she had their first child. Bernice was a lifetime member of First Methodist Church-Dallas. She enjoyed culinary, artistic, garden, travel, fashion interests and worked her dream job at Neiman-Marcus Dallas, even opening their San Francisco bridal registry. Bernice moved to CC Young White Rock in 2011, enjoying her life there with many friends.
Bernice survived her parents and husbands Ben, Howard Nelson, Ernest Jennings, brother Dennis (Marion) Pickens Jr., sister Claire (Dale) Cunningham and sister-in-law Evelyn (Dale) Vanston.
She is survived by her daughter Alexandra Cameron, sons Brian (Kathy Rinetti) and Mark Christopher, grandchildren Brent (Mary) Ely and Marsha (Tiffany Carrell) Christopher, great-grandchildren Darren Ely, Ainslie Ely and Evelyn Carrell-Christopher, seven nieces and nephews, Ann Christopher, Howard’s daughter Tracey (Rick) Elledge and his grandchildren Lauren Elledge, Allison (Jack) Slider, and Caitlin (Scott) Wall, Ernest’s daughters Ann (Bill) Dickey and Cynthia (Larry) Henry, and many more in Bernice’s loving family.
The graveside service at Sparkman-Hillcrest will be on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 10am. The memorial will be held at CC Young - The Vista, 4849 W. Lawther Dr, floor two, Friday, July 12, 2024 at 10am.
