

Beth was born in Houston, Texas on January 21, 1923 to Louis and Margaret Wright. A member of the Greatest Generation, she endured the hardships of The Great Depression and World War II with a resilient spirit and optimistic outlook. She graduated from St. Agnes Academy in Houston which she credited for strengthening her faith and shaping her character. Afterwards, she started her college career at the University of Houston and subsequently transferred to the University of Texas. She was a Longhorn fan her entire life. After graduation, she pursued a career in Human Resources for Gulf Oil Corporation.
In July 1955, she married Raymond Dross, a physician, and began to devote her energy to raising a family. In addition to exceling as a dedicated wife and mother, Beth will be remembered as a friend to all and a true people person. She was outgoing, witty and a skilled conversationalist. Her affable nature enabled her to easily attract a new circle of friends when Ray’s career growth necessitated relocations to Florida, New Jersey and back to Texas. Beth possessed a passion for socializing with friends, entertaining, stylish clothing and her pets. She was unselfish, thoughtful and courageous. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.
Beth is preceded in death by her parents; her younger sister, Dorothy; and her husband of 48 years, Ray. She is survived by her two sons, David and his wife, Anne; Dan and his wife, Paula; and five grandchildren, Katherine, Lydia, Matthew, Charlotte and Kara.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the National Shrine of St Jude or a charity of your choice
