Betty Jean Haney Black, 88, passed away on December 27 in Farmington, NM. She was born to Jesse Haddon Williams and Alice McNew Williams on September 6, 1925, in El Reno, OK. Betty married Harry E. Haney in 1943, and they moved to Dallas after his retirement as a U.S. Navy chief petty officer. She was preceded in death by Harry Haney and her second husband, Oscar T. Black, her son Jack Haney, siblings Jack Williams and Dorothy Fry, and grandson Marcus Haney. She is survived by sons Harry E. Haney Jr., and Steven Ellis Haney (Jazmin), grandchildren Harry E. Haney III (Stacee), Jessica Haney and Caroline Haney, and great-grandchildren Kayla Haney, Shae Haney, Lily Mock and Iris Adams. Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Owenwood United Methodist Church, 1451 John West Rd., Dallas, TX 75228.
