Betty Jean Marek, age 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 14, 2025. She entered this world on February 7, 1939 in Dallas, TX to Chester and Mildred Veyhl. Left behind to cherish her memory are daughter, Becky Haddock and husband Jeff, and son, John Marek and his wife Gina, brother John Veyhl and cousin, Barbara Frank, 5 grandsons, and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Eugene, her son Michael, and both parents. Betty graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, TX. She worked at Baylor Hospital for Doctors Kipp, Brown, Barton and Byrd in the mid 80’s. Betty and Eugene purchased a lake house at Cedar Creek where many special memories were made over a 24 year period. They loved travelling with friends and family. More importantly, they never missed a game or event that involved their grandchildren. After Betty retired, she volunteered for the next 15 years at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas until 2020. She loved playing bridge with friends and was a member of the North Dallas Women’s Club. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, Mimi, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. There will be a private graveside service.
