Betty Audean Weishaupt, age 91, passed away on January 11, 2016. Audean was born in Bokoshe, Oklahoma on October 4, 1924 to Richard and Georgia Davies. She graduated from Bokoshe High School in 1942, and later married her childhood sweetheart and best friend, Donald Ray Weishaupt on July 10, 1945 in Stigler, Oklahoma. Together they raised four children and lived in Oklahoma, Kansas, Las Vegas, Dallas, Iran, and Dubai. They moved to Dallas in 1973 where Audean became an active member of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, serving in the Altar Guild and Food Pantry. She was also a member of the Poison Ivy Garden Club, a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary Military Order of the Purple Heart, and a member of the National Timberwolf Pups Association (an association of the families and friends of WWII Veterans of the 104th Infantry Division, U.S. Army). She loved working outside in her beautiful yard, raising turtles, gardening, and feeding the birds. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who cherished her family. Audean is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Georgia Davies, her husband of 51 years, Don Weishaupt, and her daughter, Donna Weishaupt. She is survived by her sons, Mark and Gary Weishaupt, her daughter, Denise Hammond (Clay), her grandchildren, Chad and Courtney Hammond, Nicole Scheuerlein (Neil), Derek Weishaupt (Tammy), her step grandchildren Valerie and Olivier Tan, Scott and Chris Jacobson, and her great grandchildren, Dylan and Cameron Gordon. Audean passed away knowing all of her children and grandchildren loved her dearly. She will be missed and remembered for her kindness to those around her and for her love of her family. For those fortunate enough to have known our mother, we ask you not to feel sorrow for her passing but instead remember and cherish the moments that made her time on earth a blessing for us all. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 25, 2016 at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension at 8787 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX. Her ashes will be placed in the Ascension Memorial Garden alongside those of her husband, Donald, and her daughter, Donna. For those wishing to do so, memorial contributions can be made to the Episcopal Church of the Ascension or the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) Hospice, 214-689-2950.
