Betty Maxine Williams, née Sawyer was born in Dallas, Texas on October 20, 1925 to Lois Pearl Sawyer and John Alvin Sawyer. She was an only child who lived in Dallas, Texas her entire 87 years. Betty was a 1943 graduate of Forest Ave. High School. She married Dewey Gene Williams 2 weeks past her 18th birthday on November 6, 1943. They were married for 53 years when he died on April 4, 1996. She never stopped missing him. Betty was a loving, devoted and proud spouse who never failed to support Dewey as he attended SMU after the war or his rise from Actuarial Trainee to President at Employer's Casualty Company. They had 3 children; Sharon Bothe, Paul Williams and Don Williams; 6 grandchildren, Darren (Ann) Bothe, John Bothe, Janet (Seth) Bassingthwaite, Susan (Greg) Wilson, Thomas (Alicia) Finney and Brad Williams; 6 great-grandchildren, Drew, Alexander, Isabel, Colt, James and Brooklyn. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. The family invites anyone to a visitation Tuesday at Sparkman/Hillcrest on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel with interment to follow at Sparkman/Hillcrest Memorial Park.
