Born in Dallas, Texas, Sue was the eldest child of Willa Dean and William Batchelor. She grew up alongside her two younger brothers, Larry and Mark Batchelor, and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School.
One of her favorite childhood memories was going to her Aunt Eunice and Uncle Fred’s house in East Texas for the summers and Christmas to spend time with all her cousins. In her younger years, she loved going out country and western dancing and even entered into a few dance competitions.
Sue dedicated her life to early childhood education, spending her career as a preschool teacher. She found immense joy and fulfillment in nurturing young minds and making a lasting impact on her students’ lives.
She loved the simple things in life such as spending time with family, going to movies, going out to eat, going on outings and Sunday drives, and being a Mimi. She really loved her furbabies Sushi and Red. Sy-fy, westerns, and mysteries were her favorite movie genres.
She is survived by her daughters Deana Lobban and Heather Cruz, her granddaughters Maci Garcia and Patsy Harrison, grandson Zackary Fulkersin, her brothers Larry and Mark Batchelor (Robyn Batchelor), her niece Kayleigh Recchie and her cousins Gay Lynn Bynum, Fredna Weatherread, and Jeanette Parham.
Sue’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
