Billie Jo Utley was born August 6, 1922 in Loco, Oklahoma, and passed from this life on March 30, 2012 in Mesquite, Texas. She was the third of six daughters born to Ennis and Amy Sellers. On December 3, 1944, she married Lt. Paul W. Utley, and, after brief assignments in Pampa, Texas and San Antonio, they settled in Oklahoma City. In 1953, they moved to Dallas where Billie lived the rest of her life. She loved gardening, entertaining, and being with children. After the passing of her beloved husband Paul in 1981, Billie devoted her life to her family and to voluntary service. She was a charter member of the Book Haven Book Club, and actively involved in Assistance League of
Dallas. She was the longest serving volunteer at Children’s Medical Center and assisted there at least once a month until 2 years before her death. Billie was a dedicated Christian all her life, and a charter member of the Walnut Hill Church of Christ. She is survived by her sons Bruce Utley and wife Sharon of San Antonio, and Blake Utley and wife Sandy of Duncanville, by sisters Vonnie Douglas of Clifton, Nannette Howell of North Richland Hills, and Lennis Sellers of Oklahoma City. She is also survived by six grandchildren and three great grandchildren, and by eight nieces and three nephews.
