Billy Jack Karner, 85, passed away September 23, 2019 in Hewitt, Texas. Billy Jack was born to James Love Karner and Edna Moore Karner in Ben Wheeler, Texas. He graduated in Van, Texas in 1952. He enjoyed History, Basketball and Baseball. He worked in the oilfields for Humble Oil Company in Kilgore, Texas with his Uncle Clyde Henderson, now known as Exxon. In 1953 he moved to Dallas, Texas and went to work for Ford Motor Company and retired in 1983 from Ford. Billy Jack is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris Marie Graves Karner: 1954-1973; wife, Barbara Ann Karner of 14 years and son, James Rodney Karner. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Ann Nugent of Hewitt, Texas; grandson, Patrick Nugent and family, Bryan Nugent and family of Forney, Texas; Brandy Nugent and family of Garland. Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 11:00am-12:00pm with services following at 12:00pm at Grove Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
