Billy Joe Morrison was born on February 25th 1926 and went peacefully to join his precious Lord and Savior on July 6th 2022. Billy is preceded in death by his loving wife Dorothy of nearly 69 years; his parents Lois and Phlez Morrison; Bettie Campbell (sister)and her husband Gene; and his great granddaughter Darla Jean Moore. He is survived by his daughter Debra Moore and her husband Bill; three grandsons, Micah Moore, Matthew Moore (Katie); Ryan Moore (Clairissa); granddaughters: Yulia Vasquez (Oscar); Lydia Reed (Justin); and great grand kids Jadyn, Keara and Zaelyn Moore; Clementine, Wolfgang and Fritz Moore; Lukas, Levy and Oscar Vasquez; and Zayden, Martha and Zaxton Reed; and Michael Campbell (nephew) and Lisa Campbell Prewitt (niece) and Jackie Armstrong (niece)
Billy Joe was born in Wolf City, Texas and later moved with his family to Sherman, Texas. Upon graduating from high school, he joined the Army and fought in Germany in WWll. He received an honorable discharge with a Purple Heart. Shortly thereafter he met the love of his life, Dorothy Louise Towles and they married on January 9th 1948. He was a gifted machinist and could make literally anything. He worked for Atlantic Richfield Oil Company for many years and made parts for the Alaskan Pipeline. When he retired he loved creating things with wood and especially making clocks.
He and Dorothy enjoyed traveling, camping, getting together with friends, playing cards and croquet and especially family gatherings. He truly had a servants heart. He was honest, caring, hard working and always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be tremendously missed by all who knew him.
