Billye Virginia Shepard was born on November 14, 1928. Her parents were Garland LLewellye Allen and Catherine Louise Allen. Catherine later married Henry L. Graves and became Catherine Louise Graves. Billye was born in Yorktown Texas, attend Southwestern University and the University of Texas. She has had three husbands that have preceded her in death; Bobby Dean Mitchell, Jarrell Garonzik, and William Martin Shepard Jr. Her surviving family include her sister Judy Garland Coats, her two daughters Leslie Ann Schoolfield and Janice Lynn Truitt, three grandchildren; Matthew Micajah Truitt, Luke Lynn Truitt, and Nicole Catherine Schoolfield and four great grandchildren; Leo Mohanty Truitt, Milan Mohanty Truitt, James Wolf Truitt, and Amelia Kodiak Truitt. Billye Shepard was a wonderful artist that had the ability to depict the unique quality of personalities in her works. She was involved in several charities such as the Crystal Charity Ball, Dallas Ballet, Dallas Arboretum Dallas, Texas and the Garden Club in San Miguel De Allende, Mexico. People loved Billye. She always had great style, a wonderful smile, and a giving nature. She will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers gifts can be made to North Texas Food Bank or Catholic Charities. A memorial will be held at The Legacy at Willow Bend for the community and family in Plano, Texas, on August 29th at 1:00 PM. Her resting place will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas.
