

Bobby George Clay, 95 years old, departed this life from natural causes on July 18, 2025. He was born in Dallas, Texas on May 25,1930, to Charles Elza and Myrtle Pauline (Benton) Clay. Soon after graduating from Corpus Christi High School via a football scholarship program, Bobby enlisted in the USMCR and served during the Korean war. He was honorably discharged as a decorated Sergeant. He married only once to the love of his life Billie Ray Clay. The two were married for 65 loving years and had two children. Known amongst his friends and family to be fiercely responsible, thoughtful, quick witted, and hardworking. His career at Dallas Power & Light Co. encompassed over 35 years and he retired at the ripe old age of 57 then spent the next 35 years unrelentingly devoted to the game of golf, where he would play countless rounds of golf, traveling to tournaments, and spending time with his beloved friends.
Bobby was affectionately referred to as Grandpa, an iconic figure to his four grandchildren and his four great grandchildren showering them with love, humor, and understanding at every turn. His passing is felt deeply and with immense sorrow, but the family is comforted by the full and long life he led. He touched many and left a lasting impact that won't soon be forgotten.
Bobby Clay was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Clay and his son Steve Clay. Bobby was also preceded in death by his twin brother Billy Clay, and an older brother Kenneth Clay.
He is survived by his daughter Sandra Clay Lawson, his grandchildren Lacy Lawson, Bobby Clay, Stephanie Clay, and Micheala Machado and his great grandchildren, Jayzon Lawson, Nora Grace Murphy, Andy Machado and Mike Aguilar.
