Brooke was born in Dallas, Texas, on March 13, 1992. It was Friday the 13th, a date her brother and sister liked to tease her about. She was a sweet girl, if a little loud – a trait only heightened with age. She loved all animals, but especially horses and her dogs. She graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2014, but her heart was always back in California. She loved the West Coast and all beaches.
Brooke was an excellent chef who loved eating her own food nearly as much as sharing it. She was a gourmand with a heightened sense of culture and taste for the finer things in life – but she also devoured trash TV and McDonald’s french fries. She was an original thinker and, to be honest, a bit of weirdo – unconventional in the best way. She had a strong sense of justice and abhorred bullies. She was always singing to the dogs and cat, shouting about her horoscope, making an ungodly racket in the kitchen. The quiet left behind by her passing is crushing.
Brooke felt things deeply. She reacted intensely to suffering, especially of animals. She was fiercely loyal to her family and friends, pushing through heartache to defend and uplift them. She loved profoundly and was profoundly loved.
Brooke is survived by parents Bruce Bordelon and Iola Williams Bordelon, brother Brendan Bordelon, sister Danielle Bordelon, dogs Charlie and Roxie and her cat Finn. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Operation Kindness animal shelter.
A memorial service for Brooke will be held Friday, May 6, 2022, at 12:00 PM at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, Texas, 75225, with a reception to follow.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.Sparkman-Hillcrest.com for the Bordelon family.
