Carmen A. Lopez, 88, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2024 in Dallas, Texas. She was born April 20, 1936 to Isadore and Paz Alvarez. Carmen was raised in the Little Mexico community of Dallas and graduated from St. Ann's Catholic School in 1953.
She married Manuel C. Lopez in 1953 and the couple had three children. She was a professional paralegal at various government agencies including the Environmental Protection Agency and served in this role for more than twenty-five years.
After retiring in 2000, Carmen enjoyed living on the lake in Winnsboro, Texas along with spending time with her family. She always enjoyed traveling, movies, and all things outdoors. Her family and friends will always remember her as a kind, giving, and loving person. She devoted herself to taking care of others all of her life. She is well loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Manual C. Lopez; daughter, Sylvia Lopez; mother, Paz Alvarez; father, Isadore Alvarez; brothers, Henry Alvarez, Raphael Alvarez, Luis Alvarez and Rodolfo Chacon.
