Carolyn Sue Waters

Carolyn Sue Waters, age 77, passed away peacefully in Marble Falls, Texas on October 12. 2025 after her two year battle with dementia. Born on July 2, 1948 in Dallas to Dave Ausbon and Annie Claire Waters, Carolyn was the youngest of three siblings growing up on a mini-ranch in Richardson, Texas with chickens, cows, horses, and lots of dogs. She maintained her love of animals and particularly dogs throughout her life.

She began her working life in administrative jobs after graduating from Richardson High School and later graduated from The University of Texas at Dallas and continued a career in the accounting field. Carolyn and her older sister, Sarah, were the best of buddies and lived together or within blocks of each other in Dallas all of their lives going on many adventures and vacations both in the US and Europe. After retirement, she took great joy in taking care of her pets and working in her yard. It broke her heart to have to give up her dog, Buddy, when she entered a nursing home in 2024.

Carolyn is survived by her loving brother, David Waters and sister-in-law, Louene, of Bertram, Texas, two nephews, Erik, wife Brittany and children, Lola and Atticus of San Antonio and Garrett Waters, wife Missy and children Emma, Reese and Julia of Austin and her lifelong friend, Glenda Shirley of Dallas. She is preceded by her parents and older sister, Sarah Ann Waters.

Carolyn was blessed to know and love the Lord. A funeral service will be held at Grove Hill Memorial Chapel, Dallas, Texas on October 20, 2025 at 2:00pm followed by interment at

A funeral service for Carolyn will be held Monday, October 20, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
