Carrie Jo Rock

Born January 31, 1927 to parents Edward Lawrence Lannen and Florence Abigail Tyler Lannen, both members of pioneer families to Williamson County, Texas in mid 1800’s. Preceded in death by her husband Robert in 2010 and by son Thomas Edward and by sisters Helen Allison and Florence Flury. Graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Taylor in 1944 and from Seton Hospital in Austin as an RN under the Cadet Nurse Corps in 1947. She married Robert in September 1949 and was married for 60 years until his death in 2010. After having lived in Champaign, Illinois, San Antonio, Texas, San Angelo, Texas, they settled in Dallas, Texas. Carrie Jo (Jo) worked in the O.B. office of Dr. Watt Winn and after 1963 at Golden Acres. Jo is survived by son Robert Rock; daughter, Loretta Williams and husband John; son, Shawn Louis Rock I; son, Edward Lawrence Rock (Ned) and wife Olivia; grandchildren, Rebecca Carpenter and husband Gordon, Carrie Webb, Amanda Chambers and husband Travis, Susan Rock, Shawn Louis Rock II and wife Annabelle, Zee, Judge, Ford, Diesel, Wolfgang and Angus Rock; great-grandchildren, Holidae, Chloe, and J.T. Bradley, Brooklyn and Chesley Carpenter, Dylan Smith, Jared, Carsen, and Landon Webb, Axton and Belle Chambers, and Lilly Rock. Jo is also survived by sister Loretta Becker of Brea, California, sister-in-law Cordelia Conn of Charleston, MO, and brother-in-law Bill Rock of Dallas, and numerous nieces and nephews. Recitation of the Rosary will be held, 7:00 PM, Sunday, November 23, 2014, St. Pius X Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held, 11:00 AM, Monday, St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park.
