

Siendo joven, Cenobio llegó a Houston, Texas, donde conoció a quien sería su esposa, Rita. Se casaron en agosto de 1972 y compartieron 54 años de vida juntos.
Cenobio dedicó su vida al trabajo como artesano independiente. Comenzó su carrera en la construcción antes de pasar al ramo automotriz, donde llegó a tener su propio taller. Era un hombre capaz de construir y reparar con sus manos, y se sentía orgulloso de su trabajo.
También continuó una tradición heredada de su propio padre: la crianza de abejas. Aprendió de joven a cuidar colmenas y a cosechar miel, y compartió ese oficio con sus hijos, enseñándoles la paciencia y el cuidado que requería. De esta manera mantuvo vivo un pedazo del mundo de su padre, transmitiéndolo de generación en generación.
Pero por encima de todo, Cenobio fue un padre devoto que dio lo mejor de sí para proveer a su familia. Cuando sus hijos eran pequeños, los llevaba a trabajar a su lado, enseñándoles lo que significa trabajar duro, ser responsables y cuidar de los seres queridos. No era hombre de muchas palabras, pero se sentía profundamente orgulloso de sus hijos, quienes llevan sus enseñanzas hasta el día de hoy.
A Cenobio lo sobreviven su esposa de 54 años, Rita; sus hijos, Angela, Cenobio Jr., Cuauhtémoc, Beatriz, Remijio (Anita) y Carlos; su ahijada, Janet; sus nietos, Rose III, Daisy, Lilly, Bella, Prince, Eric, Valencia y Camila; y sus bisnietos, Lucy, Rose IV, Penelope y Gianna; y sus hermanos, Adela, Clementina y Rodrigo.
Se reúne en espíritu con sus padres, Leon y Ramona, y sus hermanos, Guillermo, Eva, Lena, Licha y Maria.
La visitación se llevará a cabo en Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228, el 25 de julio de 2026, de 10:00 am a 12:00 pm.

Cenobio Urena, 80, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on July 13, 2026. He was born in 1946 in Atoyac, Jalisco, Mexico.
As a young man, Cenobio made his way to Houston, Texas, where he met his future wife, Rita. The two married in August 1972 and shared 54 years of marriage together.
Cenobio spent his life as a hardworking, self-employed craftsman. He began his career in construction before moving into the automotive trade, where he owned and operated his own body shop. He was a man who could build things and fix things with his hands, and he took pride in an honest day's work.
He also carried on a tradition passed down from his own father: beekeeping. It was a skill he learned as a young man and shared with his sons — teaching them the patience and care it took, and keeping a piece of his own father's world alive by passing it forward.
But more than anything, Cenobio was a devoted father who provided the very best he could for his family. When his sons were young, he brought them along to work beside him, teaching them what it means to work hard, to show up, and to take care of the people you love. He was not a man of many words, but he was deeply proud of his children — and they carry his lessons with them to this day.
Cenobio is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rita; his children, Angela, Cenobio Jr., Cuauhtemoc, Beatriz, Remijio (Anita), and Carlos; his goddaughter, Janet; his grandchildren, Rose III, Daisy, Lilly, Bella, Prince, Eric, Valencia, and Camila; and his great-grandchildren, Lucy, Rose IV, Penelope, and Gianna; and his siblings, Adela, Clementina, and Rodrigo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Ramona, and his siblings, Guillermo, Eva, Lena, Licha, and Maria.
Visitation will be held at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228, on July 25, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
