Mr. Charles Earl Robertson, born on June 2, 1948, to Mattie Busby and Alfred Charles Robertson, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and family devotion. After the passing of Alfred Robertson, Mattie later married Robert Lee Busby, which blessed Charles with three brothers: Robert Busby Jr., Edward Busby, and James Busby.
Charles was a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington Technical High School, Class of 1967, under the leadership of Principal John L. Payton—“Mighty, Mighty Bulldogs!” During his school years, Charles was an active member of the Army ROTC (Reserve Officers Training Corps) and also participated in track and field. After high school, he continued his education at El Centro College.
In 1975, Charles met Barbara Robertson and lovingly embraced the role of father to Jimmie (Dee) Boyd. From this union, Charles was blessed with two sons Shakara “Bam” Robertson, and Steffon Robertson.
Charles leaves to cherish his memory three sons, twenty-five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He also shared a special bond with his daughter-in-law, Sharica “Angel” Robinson, whom he loved dearly.
Mr. Robertson enjoyed many things in life, but nothing more than spending time with his Family—celebrating holidays was his favorite.
Charles Robertson was known for his quick wit, love of storytelling, and humor that could light up any room—especially when he was behind the wheel. Whether you were laughing at one of his tales, thinking deeply about his stories, or wondering if you truly believed his spooky ones, Charles had a way of leaving an impression on everyone he met.
May his memory continue to bring smiles, laughter, and warmth to all who knew him. When you need to smile, just sit back and remember one of Charles’s stories—because that’s exactly what he would want you to do.
A celebration of life for Charles will be held Friday, October 31, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Singing Hills Funeral Home, 6221 UNIVERSITY HILLS BLVD, DALLAS, TX 75241.
