Charles Sweeney, 85, of Dallas passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at a local Dallas hospital. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all that knew and loved him.
He was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on January 25, 1930 to Clarence and Mary Sweeney. He joined the United States Navy in 1948 and served in the Korean War on the USS Cabot.
He was survived by his wife Grace of 63 years; sons Charles and wife Nancy, Stephen and wife Susan, John, and Robert and wife Mary Ann, 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 4 brothers and sisters and many wonderful friends in Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Dothan, Alabama.
A Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Chapel, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, TX 75225.
