

Charles Wayne Taylor was born on February 19, 1949, to the late James Oliver Taylor and Thelmarie Goffney Taylor in Dallas, Texas. Affectionately known as “Wayne” to family and friends, he lived a life marked by faith, service, integrity, and a deep love for others.
Charles attended the Dallas Independent School District (DISD) and was a graduate of James Madison High School. In 1970, he was drafted into the United States Army, where he honorably served his country in the Vietnam War.
At an early age, Wayne accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, beginning a lifelong walk of faith. His ministry service spanned several churches, including Bethlehem Word Church, where he served as Head Usher; Love of God Family Church, where he served as Assistant Pastor; Bethlehem Outreach Tabernacle, where he served as Head Deacon; and The Potter’s House, where he served as an Elder and a member of the Security Team. At the time of his passing, he was faithfully serving as an Associate Minister at Triumph Missionary Baptist Church.
His professional career included work as a licensed Real Estate Agent and Insurance Agent, working for Lynn Property, Union National Insurance Company, James Jones Real Estate Company, and United Insurance Company. He later founded Taylor and Taylor Insurance Agency, a local recording insurance agency, and subsequently established Charles Taylor Tax Service. In his leisure time, Wayne loved playing golf, deer hunting and watching sports, especially basketball and football.
Wayne was first united in marriage to Barbara Sullivan, and to this union two children were born: Gigette Sullivan and Charles Wayne Taylor, Jr. He later married Jo Ann Session, and to this union two children were born: LaRhonda Clark and Antonio Taylor.
On February 11, 1984, Wayne married the love of his life, Rosemary Durden. From this blessed union, they welcomed a handsome son, Jordan Taylor.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; son, Charles Wayne Taylor, Jr.; sister, Mira Lynn Reed; brothers, Timothy Taylor and Gerald Oliver Taylor; aunts, Christine Hyder, Mattie Bell Porter, and Jeannette Goffney.
His memory will be forever cherished by his loving and devoted wife, Rose Taylor; his precious daughters, LaRhonda Clark and Gigett Sullivan; his cherished sons, Antonio Taylor and Jordan Taylor; his dearest siblings—brothers Ralph Bailey, James Darryl Taylor (Tamaka), Terrance Taylor (Erma), and Arnette Taylor; sisters Daisy Green and Tina Gayle Bryant; one aunt, Sherry Goffney; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; eleven great God-grands; God-son Adryon Lovings, three God-daughters Tabitha Fields, Chelsea Washington, Haley Washington and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and friends.
