

Cherie Dawn (Bailes) Dreyer, 58, left her Earthly body on Friday, April 5, 2013 to be amongst the heavenly stars. She was born in Karnes City, Texas on Sunday, November 21, 1954 to mother June & her late father Earl Bailes.Cherie was raised in Garland & Mesquite, attending North Mesquite High School. Later she furthered her accounting knowledge by attending school for business at Eastfield College and learning many accounting processes while working in various Dallas businesses. She made many friends while managing business records as a free-lance bookkeeper for several companies in Dallas. She married Gary Dreyer on February 2, 1973 & has been married ever since. On August 20, 1978 she gave birth to her daughter Dawn Elyse Dreyer, who she cared for & loved immensely. She shared a love of the outdoors with Gary and their closest friends & family, including boating adventures, camping trips, skiing trips & equine trail rides. She was happiest with her love, Lakota, a paint horse & her blue heeler named simply, Blue. She shared a love of the arts that everyone could see through her crafting abilities. She was known as “Grandma” to her beloved granddaughter Enique, “Spider” to her closest friends and loved by all. She had a sparkling personality & a smile to match. Always kind & willing to give of herself to those that needed her the most. Cherie is preceded in death by her father Earl Bailes, her eldest brother Kevin Bailes & her step-father Robert Polvado. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years Gary, daughter Dawn Dreyer of Plano, granddaughter Enique Higbee, mother June Polvado, step-mother Ruth Bailes, brother John Polvado & wife Wendi, sister Karen Bailes, brothers & sister-in-laws David & Brenda Dreyer, Connie Bailes, mother & father-in-law Loretta & Cleo Dreyer, adopted daughter Kimberly Wright & many nephews, nieces & cousins & her “4-legged children” Blue, Poncho, Lakota, Cody & Rambo. Service will be held at Sparkman-Crane 10501 Garland Rd. Dallas, TX 75218 on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow. Please donate in her honor to the North Texas Food Bank or to the Wild Horse Freedom Federation in lieu of floral contributions.
