

Cheryl was born on September 19, 1944, in Des Moines, Iowa, and was lovingly adopted at birth by Ernie and Gladys Willman. She grew up in Atlantic, Iowa, where she attended both grade school and high school.
Following graduation, Cheryl attended Northwest Missouri State University. It was there that she met the love of her life, Eddie Mick. The two were married on September 19, 1964, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love and devotion. Together they welcomed their son, Shawn Edward Mick, on August 14, 1965.
In July 1966, Eddie’s career with Curtis Circulation Company brought the family from Kansas City, Missouri, to Dallas, Texas—a city Cheryl and Eddie would proudly call home for the next 60 years.
Cheryl built a successful career as a financial manager, first with D’Art Art Center and later with the Creative Arts Center, where she dedicated 24 years of service. She was respected for her dedication, professionalism, and the care she brought to her work. Cheryl retired in 2021, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and excellence.
In retirement, Cheryl embraced her passion for creativity, especially through jewelry-making classes, which brought her great joy. She cherished this time of artistic expression and the friendships she continued to build.
Later in life, Cheryl faced the challenges of dementia with quiet strength. She passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026.
Cheryl is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Eddie; her son, Shawn Edward Mick; her granddaughter, Meagan Amanda Mick Tuscana; her grandson, Hunter Edward Mick; her great-granddaughter, Brenley Adeline Tuscana; and many dear friends whose lives she touched deeply.
Cheryl will be remembered for her kindness, her dedication to her family, and the warmth she brought to those around her. Her legacy lives on in the love she gave and the memories she created.
