Claire Arlene Melby, 83, went to be with Our Lord on March 16, 2015. She was born on August 26, 1931. Claire is preceded in death by her parents, Arne and Mabel Melby, and her brother and his wife, Lawrence and Betty Melby. Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Larry Melby, Elizabeth Melby, Margaret (Bob) Lee, and John (Cindy) Melby, great nephew Bob Lee, great nieces Samantha (Chris) Waltrip, Crystin (Ben) Niscavits, Jessica (Kyle) Weber, and Kathryn Melby, and numerous great-great nieces and nephews. Claire worked for Republic National Bank for over 50 years. She began her career as a runner and retired as Vice President and Insurance Manager, CPIW, and she is a past president of NAIW, Dallas Chapter. Claire was also a life long member of Central Lutheran Church where she spent many years teaching Sunday School. Claire enjoyed photography, traveling, arts & crafts, and Rosemaling. She is best known and loved for baking cookies for her nieces, nephews, and grands as well as the Mothers' Day Out at her church. Visitation will be Friday, March 20, 2015 from 6 to 8 o’clock p.m. at Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 21 at 3 o’clock p.m. at Central Lutheran Church located at 1000 Easton Rd, Dallas. Interment to follow at Grove Hill Cemetery, 3920 Samuel Blvd, Dallas, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Lutheran Church.
