Clara Coleman

Clara Jo Coleman 72, went to be with the Lord on February 18, 2011, at her residence in Lancaster, Texas. She was born on May 21, 1938 in Dallas, Texas to Rubin Isham Fitzgerald, Sr. and Clara Belle (Parson). Clara Jo married the love of her life, Archie Oden Coleman, Sr., on March 10, 1960. They have lived in Lancaster, Texas since 1960 where they raised their family.

Clara Jo was an Avon representative for over 20 years. She enjoyed traveling to numerous states with her husband, collecting wind chimes, angels and dolls along the way. Clara Jo enjoyed camping, fishing and most of all shopping. She loved to buy things for other people, always giving gifts to others. Most of all Clara Jo loved spending time with her family.

She will always be remembered by her family and friends for her High Spirit and loving ways.

Clara Jo was preceded in death by her son, John Isham Coleman, her father, Rubin Isham Fitzgerald, Sr., her mother, Clara Belle Wright and step father, Raymond Wright, her brothers, Rubin Isham Fitzgerald Jr. and Robert Eugene Fitzgerald and her granddaughter, Jessica Dawn Gann.

She is survived in death by her loving husband of almost 51 years, Archie Oden Coleman, their five sons and spouses Robert and Marva High, Sr., Archie and Linda Coleman Jr., Willard DeWayne Coleman, Glenn Monroe Coleman, David and Joyce Coleman, and one daughter Claudette Yvonne Barr. Clara Jo is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, two sisters Launa Kapokis and Misty Don Purdue, one brother Billy Don Fitzgerald Sr. along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Grove Hill Funeral Home Chapel, 3920 Samuell Blvd. Dallas, Texas 75228. Pastor Chris Seidlitz will officiate over the services. He is the pastor of Windsor Park Baptist Church where she and her husband were currently attending. Pallbearers will be Archie Coleman Jr., Glenn Coleman, David Coleman, John Fitzgerald, Bryan Chupp and Billy Walts.
