Clarence Daniel Stark

1926 – 2012

Clarence Daniel Stark, beloved husband, father, grandfather and mentor, died peacefully at 8:05 a.m. Sunday morning September 2, 2012 at Dallas Medical Center Hospital. Clarence was born June 7, 1926, in Kearney, Missouri, the son of Clarence E. Stark and Lillian Hartnett Stark. He spent his early years growing up in Kansas City, Mo.

On July 15, 1950 he married Marjorie Jane McGinnis at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warrensburg, Missouri. They raised three children together; Patrick, Chris and Kim. He was a military veteran serving in the US Army during World War II under General Patton in the Poe Valley Italy Campaign in the liberation of Italy.

Clarence became a long time resident of Dallas, TX in 1961 when he moved his family from Toronto, CN when he became the Regional Branch Manager in Texas for a five state region selling, managing and distributing LIFE Magazine. In 1969 he bought a large printing operation and various other businesses where he spent the last 43 years of his life as an independent business owner and operator, was an active member of St. Elizabeth’s Parish in Oak Cliff, sat on the Bishop Dunne High School Board and was active in the Knights of Columbus until he moved to Plano TX and became a Eucharistic Minister for 14 years at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton’s Parish.

Clarence is survived by his three sons, Patrick B. Stark (Bishop Dunne Class of 1970), grandson Patrick Daniel; Christopher S. Stark Sr. (Bishop Dunne Class of 1972) and wife Donna, grandsons Christopher II, wife Ashley, great grand children, Landon, Allie and Emily; Shaun and wife Stephanie, great grandchild, Keagan; and John-Michael; Kim D. Stark (Bishop Dunne Class of 1976) and wife Sandy. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many loving friends and business associates.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6–8 p.m., and September 7, 2012 at Calvary Hill Funeral Home located at 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, TX 75220. Services for Clarence’s entombment will be held Saturday morning September 8, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the Calvary Hill Funeral Home North Chapel.
