Daniel John Colombo, 68, passed away suddenly on July 21, 2014, in Dalls, TX. He was born on July 23, 1946, in Yonkers, NY, to Norma Yoli Colombo and Patrick Colombo, who lived in the Bronx, NY. In 1951, the family moved to New Hyde Park, NY.
Daniel attended Sewanhakha High School where he excelled in baseball and basketball. At Nassau Community College he played on a National Championship baseball team. He was honored by Nassau Community for his outstanding athletic achievements in 2012. He later graduated from St. John's University. Later in life he was a well known restauranteur and club owner.
He is survived by his wife Vicky Colombo, daughter Danielle Colombo Truini, her husband Brian and daughter Virginia Colombo, step-daughter Amy Cintron and her husband Johnny. He is also survived by his parents Patrick and Norma Colombo, sister Patricia Ryanczak and her husband Tony, brother Robert Colombo and his wife Rozalyn, Patrick Colombo and his wife Catherine. He has two beloved granddaughters, Ava and Alexa Truini and many neices, nephews, cousins and a beloved aunt Barbara.
A visitation and prayer service will be held Thursday, July 24, at Sparkman/Hillcrest at Chapel East in the mausoleum. In leiu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to St. Judes, Diabetes Association and American Heart Association.
