Keith, I just saw this from your FB post and share a quite prayer for you and your entier family. We both have a common bond in your brother Dan, who I had the privilege of running with by foot over many miles and through many thoughtful discussions - I pray that now both our Dan Cummiskey's are perhaps out for a nice jog across so many clouds laid out like mile markers in the sky as they await all of us in due time. I can't imagine loosing a son (our Mike is close in age to your Daniel).  Just know you have prayers shining across the Gulf of Mexico from Tampa Bay and I will run this evening in your son's memory and honor; remembering both Dan Cummiskey's in each step I take. I'm sure going to miss that boy. I only call him a boy because when you get to be 112 years old, everybody that's not a girl is a boy. Danny was a man- a good, sweet, young man who wasn't afraid to show unchecked excitement about the people and things he loved. His zeal for his family and friends, his school, sports and, yes, food could not, would not be contained. 

Some will look back at Danny's life and feel he got a bad shake and in some ways he certainly did. But I'd like to jump out of bed just one morning and be as excited about something, anything, as Danny was about talking sports, a good cigar, a good LSU game or a dang plate of chicken nachos. It's true, Danny faced some challenges we wouldn't wish on anyone and that seems a raw deal. But he got a good shake in that he looked at life through a different shade of glasses than most of us wear. And I think many times it was a more brilliant color. And he got a good shake by descending from two parents who spent his life devoting themselves to him, and his brother and sister, in a loving, constant, caring manner that should instruct us all. Danny Boy, I'll miss ya, Man.

I did not know Danny, but my son is on the Shelton football team. He was loved and my heart goes out to his family and friends in this time of sadness.

I never got to know Danny, but he seemed like a great guy to be around, and to come to when sad. Our coach told us about him and that he would never judge us, but rather complement us on how good we did even when we lost by 2 points or just destroyed. He would always find a way to complement us. I wish I got to know this man sooner. Rest in peace Danny for you will be an inspiration to all of us.

I remember Danny as the smart, sweet, sixth grader who was in my advisory at Shelton, when the school was on Lover's Lane. He was a joy to know, and He will be missed. My condolences to all who knew and loved him.

Danny was dearly loved and will be missed. Words can not describe the pain that is felt. Please know that the God of all comfort is near to those broken hearted.

I graduated from Shelton in 2001 and knew Danny and his kind, loving spirit. He was always the one who brightened the room and a joy to have around. We were a family at Shelton and we will all miss him very much. Sending all my love and prayers to your family through this difficult time and know we will always keep his spirit alive as he touched so many of us! Shelton proud!

Dear Family and Friends of Danny,

Our hearts go out to you as you mourn the loss, too soon, of Danny.  I understand that he was a much loved member of PLAN during its inception. 

We know full well the struggle that individuals and families endure and we are committed to help individuals with severe mental illness live a meaningful life in community, even as we move to the Clubhouse model of rehabilitation.

Danny's spirit will live on in the lives of everyone that knew him!  He was not like anyone else.  He was an angel on this earth.

Marie and Keith, I am heartbroken at the loss of your beautiful Danny. I will always remember how sweet he was with my kids when they were all growing up. He grew into such a kind and gentle soul. He will be so missed. My prayers are with you and all your family at this painful time.

No bond is as great as that between a parent and child.  My deepest condolences are with you as you grieve.

I am so deeply sorry about the loss of Danny. I have many fond memories of him from childhood as a sweet and kind soul, and I'm so happy I was able to see him one last time a couple months ago. I can't imagine the pain of losing a child, but I hope you can take solace in knowing he was loved and cared for. My sincere condolences to your family... sending blessings of healing and love your way.

Danny was a good friend and always brought peace into my life, he will be missed for the remainder of mine.
