

Dallas, Texas at the age of 70. David is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lynne, his son, David, daughter,
Emily, son-in-law, Anthony, and two grandchildren, Anna and Joseph. He was preceded in death by his
parents, Dorothy and Clayton, and his brother, Michael. David was an attorney and was the National
Legal Counsel for the Boy Scouts of America for the past 34 years. He was a lifelong Scout, earning his
Eagle Scout award in 1954. He received his B.A. from Dartmouth College in 1962 and J.D. from Harvard
Law School in 1966. He completed the General Course at the London School of Economics and Political
Science and attended the University of Calcutta in India. He began practicing law in 1966 and was
employed by the firm of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy in New York; the New York Legal Aid Society;
the New York City Planning Commission; the Fund for the City of New York; and the Ford Foundation.
David devoted his life to his family and his career to the Boy Scouts of America. He traveled the world,
read constantly, and never lost his sense of wonder. David lived a full and good life, and we will always
hold him in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in David’s memory to the Boy
