

David Witkowicz, 76, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a life defined by love, dedication, and quiet joy in the simple things. Born on September 30, 1949, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, David spent his early years there before moving to Texas in 1971, where he would build both his career and his family.
David worked as a national sales manager for an automotive aftermarket wholesaler, a role that brought him to Dallas in the mid-1970s. It was there that he met the love of his life, Sandra, on a blind date. They married in 1978 and shared many years together filled with partnership, laughter, and devotion.
He had a deep love for music and once traveled across the United States and Japan with the “Up with People” organization, an experience that reflected his adventurous spirit and appreciation for connection through song. David continued his love of music throughout his life by singing bass in his church choir.
Outside of work, David found happiness in life’s quieter pleasures. He enjoyed gardening, working puzzles, reading Stephen King novels, and watching all kinds of sports. He also had a special place in his heart for his dogs, who were constant companions.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Doris Witkowicz; his brother, Michael; his sister-in-law, Mary; and his son, David Junior.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra Witkowicz; his daughter, Carrie Knight and her husband, Jason; his son, Brian, and his wife, Cynthia and his youngest son Stephen. He also leaves behind his seven cherished grandchildren, Allyson, Jace, Sean, Braeden, Stanis, Freddie, and Isabelle.
David will be remembered for his steady presence, his love for his family, and the many quiet ways he made life better for those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228, US, on June 9, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will take place at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228, US, on June 10, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Committal Service at the same location on June 10, 2026, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
