Deborah Elaine Grant was born April 8, 1958 in Dallas, Texas to Geraldine and Roosevelt Grant. She attended L.G. Pinkston High School, graduating with the Class of 1976. She then attended El Centro College and began her lifelong career with the City of Dallas. While she worked in various departments, including the Dallas Police Department, the City Attorney’s Office and the City Manager’s Office, she also worked directly for Mayor Steve Bartlett and Mayor Ron Kirk, and ultimately retired from the Office of Convention and Event Services in 2014.
Deborah was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, Texas and enjoyed estate sales, traveling, reading recipes, baking homemade desserts, spending time with family and friends and shopping for her grandkids. She was a very classy lady who never missed an opportunity to doll-up and always had a great soundtrack of music playing for her dancing pleasure.
Deborah was preceded in death by her Parents, her brothers Lloyd Grant, Terry Grant, and Robert Grant; her sister Diana Grant, and her God Mother Cardie B. Johnson.
Of those left to cherish her memory: Daughters Brianna Grant and Basia Bishop; Son Jarrett Bishop (Lili); Grandchildren Dara Bishop-Parsipour and Ava Bishop-Parsipour; Brothers Bennie Grant (Debra), Delbert Wayne Grant and Paul Grant (Lurilla); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
