Delaine R. Boone

Delaine R. Boone, 87, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, April 3, 2014 at her home in Dallas, TX after a long courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis for 54 years. She was born November 29 1926, to Roy Zachariah and Maggie Laura (Hall) Robinson in Chico, Texas. She was born and raised in Chico, Texas and graduated from Chico High School. She then moved to Dallas and married J.K. Boone on October 28, 1950 and they were married for 63years. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Mesquite, Texas. She was employed by Sanger Harris Department Store, Love Field Airport and Internal Revenue Service for several years. She was a Sunday School teacher, involved in Christian Women’s Fellowship, Dallas ISD PTA and a supporter of Texas Christian Endeavor. She was a strong prayer warrior for her entire family and friends. She is now peacefully resting in the arms of her Heavenly Father. She is survived by her husband J.K. Boone of Dallas, a daughter Cynthia Boone Carter and husband Jerry of Waxahachie; two sons Richard Boone of Dallas, Tim Boone and wife Lori of Garland; also surviving Delaine are her grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the ‘delight of her life’ as they dearly loved their “Mammaw”. Grandchildren are Ryan Boone and wife Olga of Garland, Micheal White and Zackery Boone of Titusville, Florida, Dathan Boone of Dallas; Chris Carter and wife Carrie, Laura Carter Barnard and husband Erik of Waxahachie, Courtney Boone Thompson and husband Ben of Rockwall, Dustin Boone of Garland; and thirteen great grandchildren. Other survivors include a brother Jack Robinson and wife Sue of Chico, Texas and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one brother, one niece and two nephews. The family will receive friends and relatives from 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 7, at Grove Hill Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Grove Hill Funeral Home, Chaplain Jerry Carter, son-in-law will be officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Chico Cemetery in Chico, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family would like to request donations be made to First Christian Church, 827 S. Galloway, Mesquite, Texas 75149 in her memory. Pallbearers will be grandsons Ryan Boone, Zackery Boone, Dathan Boone, Dustin Boone, Chris Carter and Micheal White.
