Delia Rubio

Delia was born on February 12, 1933 to Pedro and Estefana Rubio. She was married to Rigoberto V. Rubio on May 18, 1956.

Delia enjoyed drawing, painting, coloring, and putting together scenic jigsaw puzzles. She especially loved to sew and worked as a dressmaker before opening her own dress shop where she specialized in bridal gowns, bridesmaids, quinceañera, and court of honor dresses; her passion of drawing inspired her to design beautiful dresses. She also made clothes, blankets, and costumes for her grandchildren. She was very fond of her dog Rocky; he was very protective of her and always by her side. She dedicated her life to her family and enjoyed get togethers especially during holidays and birthdays. She was strong-willed, courageous, big-hearted, beautiful and a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Delia is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Estefana Rubio, husband Rigoberto V. Rubio, son Alberto R. Vasquez; sisters Ramona Alvarez, Josefina Garza, Guadalupe Guerrero, Carmen Martinez, Mary Moreno, Dolores Ramos, Alicia Rubio; brothers; Joe C. Rubio and Gilbert Rubio.

Delia is survived in death by her daughters; Stephanie V. Schick, and husband James, Mary Ann Estrada, and husband Robert. Daughter-in-law; Maria B. Vasquez. Grandchildren; Vincent Vasquez, Stefanie Morales, and husband Everett, and Rebecca Estrada. Great grandchildren; Alicia and Marcos Morales. She also has numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

A visitation for Delia will be held March 20, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Calvary Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, Texas 75220. A rosary will begin at at 6:30 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated March 21, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Calvary Hill Main Mausoleum North Chapel, with interment to follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
