Dennis Theodore Worflar, passed away on March 10, 2024, in Dallas, Texas, surrounded by loved ones. Dennis was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. To know Dennis was to know the most loveable, funny and unique person. He loved deeply and unconditionally that even only knowing him for a short while you felt like you were always part of his life.
Dennis was born on December 6, 1951, in Paterson, New Jersey to Theodore and Evelyn Worflar, and lived his formative years in New Jersey, moving to Illinois in 2000 and finally settling in Texas in 2021. Throughout the years, Dennis was a radio DJ, restaurant owner and spent more than 40 years with the Dial Corporation retiring in 2014. Most recently, Dennis created Bulldog Radio, Highland, Illinois, to support local high school sports. Radio was not only a hobby but a passion for Dennis. Even with all of his accomplishments, he was proud of his children and even more enthralled with his grandchildren.
Dennis was an active member of all communities he lived. As a Master Mason in the state of Illinois, Dennis was involved with various charities. In Texas, Dennis was a member of Redeemer Rockwall, and active in the Romeo’s men’s group and volunteering with the local food bank.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Bonnie, his sister Margaret Coral of Haledon, NJ, his children, Jason Worflar (Nicole) of Fairfield, CT, Jamie Rogers (Timothy) of Dallas, Texas, his grandchildren, Matthew and Jack Rogers, and two sisters-in-law Janice Huettenmoser (Stephen) of Sparta, NJ and Patricia Cruz (Pedro) of Augusta, GA. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and their children who lovingly knew him as “Uncle Den.” His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held this Friday, March 15, at 3 p.m. at Redeemer Rockwall. A private funeral will take place with family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the ALS United Greater New York in honor of one of our loved ones currently diagnosed with this disease.
