Born on October 8, 1945, in Del Rio, Dora was the heart and soul of her family — a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. As the beloved matriarch, she touched many lives with her strength, kindness, and unwavering love. Her presence brought warmth and comfort to everyone who knew her, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Dora was preceded in death by her parents, Desiderio and Refugia Ramos; her loving husband, Adam Garza; her son, Richard Garza; and her siblings: Emilia Delgado, Oralia Quintanilla, Juanita Dominguez, Maria Padilla, Elida Nicholson, and Desiderio Ramos Jr.
She is survived by her cherished children: Vicky Munoz, Jose Adam Garza, Ruben Garza, and Norma Jean Garza. Dora also leaves behind her loving sisters, Alicia Garza and Carmen Sigala. Her legacy continues through her 13 grandchildren — Michelle, Nicole, Simon “Anthony,” Laura, Melissa, Joey, Amber, Ruben “Ray,” Emely, Victoria, Gamaliel Jr., Paula, and Naomi “Mara” — 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom were blessed by her love and guidance. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, whom she loved and cared for deeply.
One of Dora’s favorite sayings was “Si Dios quiere” — “God willing.” These simple words reflected her deep faith, humility, and trust in life’s journey. Her family will carry that spirit forward, finding comfort in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with her loved ones.
Dora will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her spirit will live on in the stories shared, the lessons passed down, and the love that continues to bind her family together.
