Doris Dean Hutcherson

Doris is the oldest of fourteen children born to Jurl (Buck) Wofford and Sarah Lottie Wofford. She was born and grew up in Arkansas around the small rural communities of White Rock, Round Pound, and Widener where she accepted Christ at an early age. Doris was born during the era of midwives who were sometimes delayed in reporting births. Because of this, she was one of a very few individuals unique enough to have two birthdays - January 14 (her real birthday) and January 30 (her legal birthday). Doris used this to her advantage and delighted in enjoying multiple birthday celebrations as she did this year for her 84th birthday.

Doris enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grand/great grandchildren, building memories that will last a lifetime.

Doris employment helped her to create an extended family; including the families of Marty and Jean White, Don and Pat January, and Cherie Stowe all which came to love her as their own mother.

Doris went home to be with the Lord on March 2, 2023 and her laughter, sense of humor, kind heart and mother-wit will be missed by a host of family, friends, and loved ones who give thanks to God for Doris and give tribute to her for a life well-lived. Doris was welcomed home by her parents; her husband, Cleveland Kirk Hutcherson, Sr.; son, Cleveland (Kirk) Hutcherson III; daughter, Wanda Wafford along with two sisters, Carol Wafford and Lillie Nelson.

Doris has three surviving daughters, Beth Hutcherson Washington, Sandra Million (Ronald) and Patricia Lynn Davis-Handy (James); daughter in law, LaVita Hutcherson; stepdaughters, Jo Ann Hutcherson, Louise Hutcherson, Jane Hutcherson and Norma Jean Johnson (Curtis); to cherish her memories she has her grandchildren, Ke’Arricka Hutcherson, Kendall Hutcherson, Jamal Hutcherson, Jordan Hutcherson, Ja’Quinn Hutcherson, Stephanie Hutcherson Truehill (Floyd), Clifton Washington (NiKesha), Brandon Washington and Gabrielle Davis; her great grandchildren, David Davis, Logan Davis, Austin Truehill, Carter Truehill, Floyd Truehill II, Kailyn Washington, Jamiyah Washington, Isaiah Washington, Draylon Spencer, Trinity Lanier and Tristyn Jackson. Doris also leaves to cherish her memory an uncle and aunt in South Bend IN, Adolph Lottie and Viola Lottie Taylor and an aunt in Springfield, OH, Artie Wofford Evans; four sisters, Mable Brumfield (Louis) of Milwaukee, WI, Loretta Milow (Fred) of Flint, MI, Janice Wofford and Dr. Dorothy Wofford Witherspoon of Kansas City, MO; seven brothers, Jewel Wofford (Anna Marie) of St. Louis, MO, Herman Wofford (Mary) of Bowling Green, KY, Hal Wofford (Oteria) of Widener, AR, Sterling Wofford (Clotis), Gregory Wofford (Bernadine) of Glenn Heights, TX, Joel Wofford (Mary) of King George, VA and Carl Wofford (Michelle) of Lancaster, CA; brother-in-law, James Nelson of Widener, AR.

Doris was a founding member of First Christian Methodist Evangelistic Church where she attended on a regular basis and keep her vows of membership. Doris was a participant in the Tuesday Morning Bible Class, Sunday school and was a member of the Missionary Society and Stewardess Board member.
