Doris grew up in Dallas and attended St. Edwards Academy where she graduated in 1945.
On April 14, 1949, she was married to Joseph Frank Morale, and they settled in the Casa View area of Dallas, where they attended worship at St. Pius X Catholic Church. She worked several years in the Sears Corporate office and later joined the family printing business where she worked until retirement. As a young girl Doris had a passion for dance, and later as an adult participated in a tap dance group known as the “Steps in Time.” The group traveled around the country where they won several competitions and once competed in the State Fair where they won first place. She loved to knit and made many blankets and other items that were donated to charity or given to family members and are still cherished today.
Doris was a faithful member of the Catholic Daughters where she helped with service projects until her health would no longer permit. She was a devoted and loving caregiver, always making herself available if anyone needed help. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she was affectionately known as “Kenny” by all of them. Doris also had a love for Boston Terrier dogs and owned several throughout her lifetime. Overall, what was most important to her was her faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ, in whose arms she now rests.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Frank Morale and daughter-in-law, Barbara Morale.
Doris is survived by her two sons, Doug (Beth) Morale, of Dallas, and Sam Morale, of San Antonio; grandchildren Brian (Beatriz) Morale, Amy (Nathan) Calderon and Samantha Morale; great-grandchildren Harrison Morale, Natalie Morale, Adelaide Calderon, Phineas Calderon, Daniel Calderon, Mina Calderon, Patrick Van Wyk and Lauren Van Wyk.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31st from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home in Dallas with a rosary at 7 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 1st at 1:00pm in the North Chapel Mausoleum at Calvary Hill. Entombment will follow.
