Dorothy Jane Higgins, a life long resident of Dallas, Texas, died peacefully July 4, 2016. Born September 29, 1922, Dorothy Jane attended Woodrow Wilson High School and Hockaday Junior College. She was a devoted employee of Scudder, Stevens & Clark Inc. until her retirement. Dorothy Jane was an active member of East Dallas Christian Church regularly participating in Sunday school classes and the Christian Women’s Fellowship. She also served as an Elder and a Deacon. Dorothy Jane was preceded in death by her parents Dorothy Stewart and Clyde Williamson Higgins. She is survived by her dearly loved large family: Joe and Iris Peacock, Dick and Paula Peacock, Carol Bakke Barrett, Phil and Sallie Peacock, Bebe and Jack Gorman, Bobby and Cyndy Peacock. She is also survived by countless other beloved cousins and treasured friends. The family would like to thank Vivienne Prout, Maria Dominguez, the staff at the Forum and Hospice Plus for their kind and compassionate care. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, July 11, 2016, at 11:00am in Dallas at East Dallas Christian Church with a reception following the service at the church.
