

young, lost her battle with pulmonary disease on October 5, 2011. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, to
Isadore and Etti Walensky, Dorothy grew up in Fort Worth until leaving to attend the University of
Texas in Austin. Dorothy moved to Dallas after marrying the love of her life, Morris Steinberg, to
whom she was married for 62 years. While raising her family, Dorothy was actively involved in
many civic and Jewish charitable organizations, including B'nai B'rith Women, Pioneer Women,
Hadassah, and Shearith Israel Sisterhood. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her
husband Morris, her three sisters, her four brothers, Della Shay, her beloved sister-in-law, and Jeff
Martin, her beloved son-in-law. She is survived by daughter Debbie Tobolowsky and son-in-law
Ira Tobolowsky of Dallas, Texas, and her daughter Janet Martin of Clearwater, Florida. She is also
survived by her grandchildren, each and every one of whom she loved dearly: Jonathan Tobolowsky,
Michael Tobolowsky, Zachary Tobolowsky, Jason Martin and Jennifer Martin. Dorothy is also
survived by several nieces and nephews, including Barbara Zale and Sue Ring, and by her long time
friend Janet Mann. Interment will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 7, 2011, at graveside at
Sparkman Hillcrest. The family deeply appreciates all those who assisted Dorothy with her
pulmonary troubles, including Dr. Randy Rosenblatt and Wanda Dory, her caregiver. Donations can
