Dorothy Sublet

Dorothy Evans was the first born to Willie and Zaylee Evans on August 6, 1924, in Marlin, TX. She met and married Joseph Timothy Sublet on March 21, 1947, and to this union, nine children were born. She accepted Christ at an early age. She was a devoted member of Canada Drive Christian Church under the leadership of Rev. W.M. Waterhouse.

As life dictated changes in her life, she later joined Greater Progressive Baptist Church where Rev.J. J. Raven was Pastor and current Pastor is Rev. Sammy McGuire. She served faithfully with the Missionary Department, Sunday School, Starlight Band and the Bible Training Union. She was always available and ready to share the word of God.

After relocating to Mesquite, She attended North Dallas Community Bibl e Church under the leadership of Pastor Leslie Smith and Assistant Pastor Eldred McClean. There she was very active with the Women’s Bible Study Group until her health prevented her from being in attendance. However, she maintained fellowship with both NDCBC and Greater Progressive by phone and home visits until God called her home. Dorothy loved people and shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone she met. Her loving spirit and kind heart was always shining through.

On December 3, 2020, Dorothy answered her call home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; her son Reginald; her grandson Reggie; 2 brothers (Sonny and Verdee); 2 sisters (Ramantha and Mary Lee); and 1 cousin(Jessie Mae).

Her memory will be cherished by her children: Ronald Evans (Yvonne), Joyce Evans, Joseph Sublet, Jr. (Edna), Norma Sublet, Kevans Sublet (Linda), Sharon Hill, Rosalind Kellum, Teressa Sublet; 20 Grandchildren, 31 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Due to Covid 19 restrictions and health concerns, we have chosen to have a private

Graveside Service for the immediate family only. Our family is committed to following

the guidelines recommended by the CDC to protect ourselves, families, friends and

strangers. Although services will be limited to the immediate family, it will be streamed

online.
