

Eddie Wayne Dawn was the bubbly, curly head son born to the parentage of Robert Leander Dawn and Mary Louise Turner Dawn of Dallas, Texas on April 23, 1956 in Dallas, Texas. Eddie was a fun-loving child who enjoyed his family and friends. He accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Terrell at the Willow Grove Baptist Church. Eddie received his education at South Oak Cliff High School. Eddie started his career at Coca-Cola and ended his career at JCPenney.
Eddie met his childhood sweetheart, Cynthia K. Woodard, and the two were married in 1973. To this union one child was born, DeShayla Dawn.
Eddie’s life goals were to treat everyone with respect, to always be available for family, to fish as much as possible, and to help others. .
After Eddie’s father was confined in the nursing home with Alzheimer's, his daily early mission was to ensure that his father had a bath, was dressed in starch-ironed clothes, and did not look like he lived in a nursing home. Eddie was a very attentive and caring son to his mother, and often bought her little treats, stating “Daddy told me you wanted this.”
Eddie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Grand and Elnora Dawn, father Robert Leander Dawn, and brother, Robert Earl Dawn.
Eddie leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Mary Louise Dawn, three daughters: DeShayla Johnson (Chris), Mashandrea Sloan and Avette Smith; three sons: Alvin Smith, Demarcus Smith (Tara), and Kendrick Moore; 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, Sisters Catherine Shamlin (George), Sharon Handy, and sister-in-law Gloria Dawn, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Lastly, Eddie leaves two very special childhood friends, Reginald Brown and Ernest Hubbard Jr,
