With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Edna Faye Smith, who peacefully departed this life on August 7, 2025.
Born on January 16, 1946, to the late Corine Johnson and Johnny Walters, Edna was a woman of strength, style, and grace — a true diva whose presence lit up every room. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George Smith; her parents, Corine Johnson and Johnny Walters; and her sister, Gwen Mitchell.
Edna leaves to cherish her memory her devoted children, LeEura Smith and Lamont Smith; her loving grandchildren, Paige Smith, Chelsea Taylor, Lauren Smith, Blake Smith, and Benilia Hunter; a host of great-grandchildren; and her dear brothers, Greg Walters and Johnny Walters, Jr.
She will be remembered for her radiant spirit, bold personality, and the joy she brought into every life she touched. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of love, beauty, and confidence will live on in our hearts forever.
