Edward Dwayne Glover, III, son of Deborah Glover, was born in Honolulu, HI, on August 29, 1972. He departed this early realm to join family and friends who preceded him in heaven on January 3, 2023. He lived his life with energy, purpose and contagious joy. Eddie was known as “King Solo-G” and had an uncanny mechanical ability. Rumor had it, he could change a car tire with nothing more than “a screwdriver and a pair of pliers”. He loved using his talents to help others and riding with his Kingz of the South motorcycle club family. He loved sports and especially loved watching football on Sundays, cheering for his favorite team, the San Francisco Forty-Niners. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, his extended Kingz of the South Motorcycle Club family and the large circle of friends his magnetic personality pulled into his sphere. And his greatest passion was spending intimate moments with the love of his life, Bethany Nelson.
His family moved from Chicago, IL, to Northern California in 1978, where he spent most of his youth. Shortly after graduating high school, Eddie enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged on July 23, 1991, and in 1996 he settled in Dallas, Texas, to embark on a new beginning with his family. Eddie began working for the U.S. Postal Service in March 2001 as a mail handler, but they soon discovered his true talents, and he transferred to the Dallas Field Maintenance Department where he maintained everything mechanical inside and outside of the postal buildings in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
On July 4th of 2018, Eddie was watching the celebratory fireworks from a parking lot with mutual friends. It was at that show that he met Bethany and it was at that moment that the fireworks really ignited. They sat in that parking lot until 4 AM talking and enjoying each other’s company. They found each other so captivating that they did the same thing the next night. A lasting, lifelong bond formed. As time passed and grandchildren and the inevitable gray hair came along, so did the adventures and the memories. Like motorcycle riding in 320 degree weather. Or planning a last-minute island vacation for their shared birthday week. Or sharing a chuckle about some funny event one of them experienced when they were apart. Or laughing themselves to tears watching the last terrible episode of a Tyler Perry show. Their love blossomed and their mutual respect and shared independence brought them true peace and happiness. They were each other’s most devoted fans.
Along with his mother Deborah and love Bethany and her beautiful family, Eddie is also survived by brother Eric Glover, Aunt Claudette (Clarence). All of his family and friends will miss his infectious smile, robust laugh, huge heart and we will never forget that Kingz of the South cut that no other person could ever fill. He will continue to ride in heaven as hard and long as he did on this Earth.
Condolences may be sent to Ms. Deborah Glover, 4409 Heath Court, Plano, TX, 75024, and Bethany Nelson at 2108 Bosswood Drive, Grand Prairie, TX, 75052.
