She earned multiple degrees and was working at the Pentagon when se met and married Billy Couts Hutcheson in 1952. They then moved to Fort Worth. "Miss Elly" gave a great deal to her Fort Worth community including politics, DAR, and the Forth Worth Genealogical society.
On Friday, November 25, 2016, Eleanor passed. She was greeted in Heaven by her husband and two brothers, Eric and Colson Schoonmaker.
Her life and legacy will continue to be remembered and celebrated by her family:her sister, Dorothy Henderson of Gainsville, Florida; two daughters, Dorothy Brinkman of Sherman, TX and Holly Farrell of Dallas; four grandchildren, Andrew and Elissa Brinkman, and Justin and Zachery Farrell, and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Fort Worth December 2, 2016 at 2pm. Interment to be determined later at Oakland Cemetery in Weatherford, TX.
Memorials can be made in her name to the Great Dane Rescue or the Fort Worth Zoo.
