

Elias was raised in Dallas, Texas and graduated from Crozier Tech High School in 1958. He proudly served in the United States Navy after high school.
He married Amanda in 1960 and the couple had one child. He was a self-employed lithographer for more than thirty years.
In his spare time, Elias enjoyed watching sports, but most importantly, the Dallas Cowboys. His family and friends will always remember him as a strict, yet kind person who would always try to help family as much as possible.
He is preceded in death by his father, Andres Montez; mother, Josephine Montez; sisters, Josephine, Eduvina, Severita, Mary Dolly; brothers, Andres, Johnny, and David.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda; son, Richard Rene; sister, Angelina; grandchild, Stephanie; along with his daughter-in law, Dora.
A Visitation for Elias will be held Monday, August 19, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 3050 N Stemmons Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75247. A Rosary will occur Monday, August 19, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM, 3050 N Stemmons Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75247. A Funeral Service will occur Monday, August 19, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, 3050 N Stemmons Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75247. An Interment will occur Monday, August 19, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Calvary Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, Texas 75220.
