

Elouise (Gilbert) Rowlett was the 4th child of 10 children, born to the union of Mr. Frank Allen Gilbert and Mrs. Connie Mae McIntosh-Gilbert, in Trees City, Caddo Parish, Louisiana. She attended Gethsemane High School and graduated from Dallas Cosmetology College.
During the years of 1957 thru 1962, Elouise married Mr. Hubert Howard, Sr and they gave life to four loving children: Hubert Howard Jr, Delphine Howard- Lockhart, Cathy D. Howard, and Curtis Howard. In her later years God provided her with a loving husband of 46 years, Mr. John Lewis Rowlett Jr, and they married on October 8th, 1977, in Dallas, Texas.
Mrs. Elouise Rowlett, worked diligently for 57years with Dr. Warren E Hancock and Pediatric RN, Mrs. Arnina “Nina” Hancock as their personal assistant. She remained a close friend to the Hancock family until her death. During her life she wore many hats, such as singing in a gospel quartet with her best friends, Mr. Fred, and Sammie Warren for many years. She also used her God given gift of music by joining Goodwill Baptist Church and contributing to the establishment of the now Pleasant Grove Community Baptist Church both of Dallas, Texas. Elouise work hard within the church did not stop at music, she offered her gift of culinary skills by providing many nutrient meals made with love. Elouise and John also would provide transportation to and from church to those in need.
Elouise was an entrepreneur in her own right with Howard’s Eat Shop and Elouise’s Beauty Nook in South Dallas, Weezy’s Kitchen and Weezy’s Thrift Store, in historic Oak Cliff, Dallas, Texas.
She leaves to cherish her memories as follows: 3 sisters, Mrs. Mellow Sue Briggs, Mrs. Carrie Ford, and Mrs. Elizabeth Brewer, 3 biological children; Hubert Howard Jr, Delphine Howard and Curtis Howard; 4 step children; Willie James Rowlett, Cynthia Rowlett, Ericka Rowlett, and Venita Ross, 14 grandchildren; Barron “BJ” Bowman Jr, Latasha Brewster ( Cullen), Garrod Lockhart, Quiana Chambers, KeithtricK Howard, Jason Howard, Alistair Howard, Allan Howard, Aaron Howard, Talitha Howard, Kateland Anderson, Derrion Lockhart, Jourdain Howard, Aaliyah Howard; 12 great grandchildren, 20 - great great grandchild and a host of relatives and friends.

o Stepdaughters: MoShaunda Rowlett
o Grandson: Henry W. Lockhart IV
Church Honors - Affiliation and Membership:
Elouise known as a founder of Pleasant Grove Community Baptist Church, she organized the first choir and played the piano in 1990 provided music song selections, she also coordinated the youth choir and was a very faithful deaconess, Elouise went out of her way to ensure each child of God and church members felt her loving presence.
