

Emma Stephens passed away on August 3, 2015. She was born on August 31, 1923 to Verna and Robert McCutchin. She graduated from Tyler High School in 1940 and attended North Texas State in Denton. She was married for 49 years to Don B. Stephens who died in 1992. Emma was a really good cook and created a wonderful home for her family. Emma lived in Dallas, then moved to Lamesa in 1956 and then to Levelland in 1967 before moving back to Dallas in 2004. She is survived by her five children. They are Donna Hyde and husband Robert, their children Stephen Barron, wife Nina and their son Bennett and Timothy Barron and wife Olga and their son Nicholas, all from Dallas. Diane Robinson and husband Don and their children, Lisa Johnson and husband Stephen and their sons, Barrett and Jack and daughter Lindsey Justice and husband Tye and children, Claire and Blake, all are from Houston. Cathy Fowler and daughters Christy Fowler, Emily Vafa and husband Daniel and children Avery and Logan, all from Dallas. Also, her son Matt Fowler and his wife Morgan of Conroe. Don Stephens, Jr. and wife Barbara, son Jordan and wife Stacey and children Conner, Courtney and Cameron all of San Antonio. Also, their son Christopher Stephens and wife Elizabeth and new baby Mason, from Austin. Jon Stephens and wife Lezlie and their sons Zachary and Jared of Frisco. Emma is also survived by her sister Verna Musslewhite of Levelland and by her brothers Jack McCutchin of Levelland, Richard McCutchin of Dallas, George McCutchin of Rockwall and Pat McCutchin of Georgetown. Emma was preceded in death by her brothers Robert McCutchin and Sonny McCutchin. She also enjoyed her many nieces and nephews. The family is grateful to Manchester Place for their loving care for the past few years. Services will be at Grove Hill Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, August 8th at 2pm with Dr. Steve Vernon officiating. A reception will follow the services at the home of Emily and Daniel Vafa.
