

TUREK, Erma Anderson, age 93 of Dallas, was born on March 14, 1922 to Lan and Tommie Anderson, in the small community of Spring Hill near Hope, Arkansas. She passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Erma was always a country girl at heart, telling wonderful stories of her childhood growing up on a farm. In her later years, she began to write down some of her stories and added beautiful prose and poetry for the family to remember her by. She thought of herself as “the last leaf to fall from the tree”, being preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, four sisters, including her twin sister, Ima, and her beloved husband of 52 years, Julius Turek, who passed away on November 25, 2001. Left to preserve her memory of a beautiful, long life, filled with love and family are daughter, Monica Granath and husband Greg of Dallas; granddaughter Shoshanna Turek, husband Jeff Dunton and great-grandchildren Zoe and Dylan of Austin; son David Turek and wife Jeanie of Fort Worth, grandson Travis Turek, wife Erin and great-grandchildren Emma and Ty of Lantana; and granddaughter Jennifer Findlay and husband Caleb of Maui, Hawaii.Visitation will be held Tuesday April 14th from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 15th at 2pm at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Erma Turek’s honor may be made to The American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
