Deaconess Essie B. Brown
A Time To Be Born:
Essie B. Brown was born May 20, 1926 to the union of Joseph and Emily Blanton in the Mt. Zion community, Rusk County Texas.
A Time To Plant:
Essie B. Brown, received her education at the Mt. Grove public schools and graduated from Anadarko High School.
At a very early age she accepted Christ as her Savior, and united with the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Christ was always the head of her house and life.
Essie B. Brown, graduated from Beaumont Beauty School and received her license in cosmetology.
Essie B. Brown moved to Dallas, Texas and on May 29, 1944 she married the love of her life, Otis Brown. To this union they were blessed with five children; Gloria, Earlene, Otis Jr., Clara Marie and Belinda Ruth.
Essie B. Brown was a faithful and devoted, member of New Mt. Gilead where she served as a Deaconess, Sunday School, Women Ministry, Choir, Bible Study, and Prison Ministry for more than eighty years.
A Time To Die:
On Tuesday, February 3, 2026, God sent a "Sweet Chariot "to carry her home. Deaconess Essie B. Brown, understood the assignment! Job well done! Rest peacefully with your crown!
Those waiting in heaven to meet her are her parents, her husband Dea. Otis Brown, Sr. one sister; Mandie Whitaker, one daughter; Dr. Earlene Martin, one son; Otis Brown, Jr., and one grandson Brent Womack.
A Time To Grieve:
Left to treasure Deaconess Essie B. Brown precious memories are: Three loving and devoted daughters, Gloria Womack, Clara Morgan (Chris), Belinda Jones.
Eleven grandchildren; Cassandra Brown-English (Reginald), Brian Womack (Rochelle), Corey Morgan (Carmen), Gayla Womack, Marcus Moore (Brigit), Andre Brown, Adrian Lacy (Krystle), Tiffany Moore (Mike), Michelle Brown, Brittney Martin-Dunbar (Paul), Whittney Martin-Jackson (Victor). Twenty-Five great-grands, Two great-great-grands.
She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Along with special friends and family at the New Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.
A Time To Remember:
Family, let us remember Deaconess Essie B. Brown's strong faith and her love for her family, church and friends. Her peaceful character and quiet personality warmed the hearts of all who knew her and loved her.

Brown, have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
