It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected loss of our beloved and sweet Estelle Spring Hermansen. True to her name, Estelle was a bright star to all of us that knew her, to all that loved her and those that merely crossed her path. Forever gone from this mortal earth, our “Stellie Belly” now rests peacefully, happily and without distress in the warm embrace of God in the celestial realm of Heaven. Born September 19, 2005, she left this earth far too soon on January 18, 2025, at the tender age of 19. Estelle’s star will shine for eternity within us.
We will miss her bright smiles; her humble beauty, her witty, and sometimes biting, humor. We will miss her spirited laughs and spot-on impersonations; the clank of her keys as she walked into the room; the voices of Grey’s Anatomy playing nearly nonstop on her computer; the sound of her music played at high volume while she showered. Her thoughtful deeds and gifts will compel us to act; her determination will inspire us; her loyalty and friendship will be held sacred. Our heartbeats will, until our last breath, whisper “I miss you”.
Despite all the sorrow and grief; we know ... we know that in time “God will wipe every tear from our eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things have passed away.” We will take refuge in knowing that “In His presence, her life will be celebrated and that there will be fullness of joy and pleasures forevermore.”
Estelle was born to perform and being front and center was not a concern. Her greatest passion was acting, and she brought unwavering commitment and energy to every role throughout her short life. The seed was planted, nurtured and held to a high standard at Cathryn Sullivan’s Acting Studio where Estelle spent hours studying, practicing, and elevating her craft with like-minded friends.
Beginning as young as 5 years old when Estelle was booked to perform a main role in Cry of Players, a (way too long) Broadway show about young William Shakespeare. Estelle deftly navigated her lines; too young to read, she practiced Elizabethan English diligently with her Mom whom patiently read the lines to her repeatedly until she was satisfied.
However, it was the chance to hug Lady Gaga on the set of American Horror story that vibrated the strongest within her young career; a close second were the makeup trailer chats with Kathy Bates or meeting X Man Superhero Evan Peters. Her role in Bunked held a special place within her heart too since she was able to perform with one of her dear friends from her acting classes.
If acting was her first love, cooking was her favorite companion, and she excelled at it. Don’t dare ask her to frost a cupcake like most kids at an early age; expect a handmade semolina pasta with Ragù Alla Bolognese or a classic Bechamel. Maybe a side of parsnip black truffle fries with her rare burger, crepes for breakfast or three-layer coconut cake for special occasions. A frozen coffee from her favorite coffee shop, Drip, was a staple. Later, there was always a good reason for a champagne toast with friends or family.
There is not enough space to describe all the goodness Estelle possessed, but beauty, intelligence, moxie, style, uniqueness, sophistication, charm, thoughtfulness, and an “old soul” are all words used to tell her story.
Born in Dallas, Texas with more hair than her Dad (even then), Estelle began her educational journey at The Carlisle Preschool, attended Hyer Elementary and Highland Park Middle School. Subsequently home schooled, Estelle then later attended Spring Creek Academy in Plano for the last two years of high school. In August Estelle began her college journey in Santa Barbra at SBCC where she continued her pursuit in film studies and English. When she wasn’t studying, she enjoyed walks along the beach.
Estelle was the precious daughter to Monica and Kirk Hermansen; a beloved sister to Kennedy Hermansen; a devoted friend to many for whom we’ll be eternally grateful; treasured niece to her Aunt Gant, a kinship that ran deep and who preceded her in death; her Aunt Karla Monday, Uncle Chris Head and a bevy of older cousins Mac, Sue, Stormy, Andi, Madi, Bryan, Kelly, Jennifer, Cody, Tanner, Bella and Hudson along with early influencers Mae Mae and ZaZa whose love and patience resided within her. Estelle was preceded in death by her grandma Ruth Robertson and granddad Doug Hermansen.
An animal lover, Estelle’s miniature yorkie, Dolce, was a constant sleeping buddy and confidant. Georgie Blue and Bean were also treated to her heartfelt love and caring. And Lola - her first pet, an all-white miniature long haired fluffy Persian kitten, will surely once again remain content to sit and purr in her lap.
A viewing will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on January 26, at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home in Dallas. A celebration of life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on January 27, at Highland Park United Methodist Church, where Estelle was baptized. A reception will be hosted at Estelle’s home at 3:00 p.m.
Flowers may be ordered through Dr. Delphinium. The family requests that attendees wear pink in honor of Estelle's favorite color, and her life well lived.
All the love, all the kisses, all the hugs eternally Stellie Belly. Mom, Dad and Sissy Love you forever. May you now Rest in Peace.
