Evelyn C. Nelson

Evelyn Charlene Nelson, age 90, of Mesquite, Texas, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021. Evelyn was born February 21, 1931 in Seminole, Oklahoma. She graduated from Seminole High School. Evelyn married James A. Nelson on August 25, 1958.

She loved doing all kinds of crafts and sharing them with family and friends. She also loved to cook, and her favorite desserts were ice cream and anything chocolate.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Emma and Albert Belveal; husband, James Nelson; daughter-in-law, Belynda; and siblings, Virginia, Helen, Barbara, Charles, Kenneth, and Neal.

She is survived by her children, Jimmie Nelson, Jeffrey Nelson and wife Peggy, and Johnny Nelson and wife LaRita; grandchildren, Bonnie (Stephen), Laura (John), Jessica (Brian), Lesley (Manny), Faith, Brandon, Amanda, Ashley, Melissa, Melanie (Doug), and Matthew; and sister, Etta Nelson; 25+ great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, along with many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Evelyn will be held Saturday, January 1, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Life Church.
